Welcome to our new BLOG Site, “To Give Beauty for Ashes”, which has been established as a central information site for donations to benefit not only our Rancho Bernardo community, but all fire-displaced families in San Diego and its outlying communities.
Many generous resources have been provided to our Rancho Bernardo community, and to be good stewards we hope to share these with all San Diego Fire Families.
Cash donations that this site will address will be related specifically to our Rancho Bernardo community, however, we will do our very best to put users in contact with the appropriate agencies for our neighboring communities, so that contributions can be designated specifically.
Our original BLOG site, http://westwoodvolunteercrews.wordpress.com , will remain in place as a source to communicate to the public at large regarding opportunities to volunteer their services or donations on behalf of families affected by the fires. Specific events and/or needs requiring volunteer assistance will be posted, as well as services offered by the public.
A new BLOG site, http://rbforwardfireforum.wordpress.com , will be dedicated to Rancho Bernardo families who have been displaced by the fires, so that they will receive neighborhood-specific fire relief information directly and to provide a private forum for families to confidentially express needs. Requests will be shared in confidence with our RB Fire Relief Coordinator, Valerie Brown, unless otherwise specified.
Another new BLOG site, http://sdforwardfireforum.wordpress.com will be dedicated to all San Diego and outlying community families affected by the fires, so that needs can be expressed in confidence, and can be addressed with the available resources. It is our goal to see that all donated items be distributed to fill any fire-related need, and that no surplus goes unused.
Thank you to all for your understanding and cooperation in utilizing these additional BLOG sites as intended, in order to help us enhance the way information and services are communicated respectively to individuals.
It is because of the tremendous outpouring of helpfulness that these new channels have become necessary! We sincerely hope that the new sites will allow everyone to access the specific information of interest to them in a more direct manner. In this way it will enable more to benefit from the available resources, and to participate in efforts and events that will aid fire families.
Best regards,
Patti McClurg
